Introduction |
VWB Research has completed housing studies in rural and urban markets throughout Virginia. Our extensive on-site and in-house research allows us to provide an in-depth evaluation of a potential property. Because of our extensive work in Virginia, we are knowledgeable of guidelines and requirements of the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) and have produced many studies that have been submitted for Tax Credit allocation.
The data in this overview includes demographic data for each county and independent city, as well as information about apartment communities VWB Research has surveyed and other properties that have been identified through the VHDA Tax Credit allocation list and the HUD property list. The intent of this information is to provide a snapshot look at affordable properties throughout the state. Furthermore, to illustrate our services, capabilities, and coverage of both affordable and market-rate properties, a more in-depth analysis is available for the City of Lynchburg.
Demographic theme maps are provided for each county and independent city. These maps illustrate:
- median household income variations
- renter share
- population age 55 and over
The purpose of these maps is to provide a basic demographic picture of each county and independent city.
